Members of the World Union of Jewish Studies are eligible to use additional applications of the database – i.e., opening a personal file on the web site and operating its functions. Upon opening the file, lists of saved search results, saved pages, and tags appear as an aid to personalized perusal and research, as described further below.
The search results appear as a list of articles. At this stage, it is possible to mark specific items on the list that will then be saved in the user’s personal file on the site for access at the user’s convenience. Unfortunately, this application does not save the article to the user’s personal computer.
Once the pages of the article appear, specific pages may be saved in the user’s personal file.
Once the search results or specific pages have been saved, the saved item(s) may be tagged. This enables a classification of items according to categories chosen by the individual user. For example, the name of a course, the title of a research work, the subject of a research volume, etc. Following tagging, the items marked may be accessed either by the tag list, which appears in the personal file, or by title or date saved.
